The Early Years Alliance is a registered educational charity with a commitment to improving childcare and raising standards across the early years sector. The Alliance now seeks an Early Years Manager to play a leading role in creating exceptional experiences for children at its growing Farcet Village Nursery.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and inspiring your team to deliver high-quality early years education and care, ensuring the setting maintains a good or outstanding Ofsted outcome.
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring all regulatory requirements, policies and procedures are followed.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with parents, carers and the wider community.
- Supporting the financial sustainability of the setting through effective operational management.
- Ensuring effective menu planning, ensuring all meals and snacks provided are healthy and nutritious and considering individual dietary needs, cultural preferences, diversity, and strict allergy control.
- Understanding the individual needs of children, including health and special educational needs/disabilities.
- Actively marketing the setting to ensure high occupancy by engaging with the local community, promoting the setting online and locally, and ensuring positive customer feedback.
- Recruiting and effectively inducting new members of staff and volunteers.
- Ensuring all children’s voices are listened to, respected, and acted upon.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and how to apply it in practice.
- Proven experience in early education and childcare post-qualification.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, nursery management systems, online portals and social media.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and stay organised in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, families and external agencies.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification and a basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or a willingness to complete).
- Excellent understanding of child development and children’s needs with the ability to plan and implement the curriculum accordingly.
- The ability to role model effective teaching, positive behaviour support strategies and inclusive care.
- Experience managing a budget, including handling fees and expenses.
