A manufacturing company in Oxford is looking for a Stores Operative / Logistics Coordinator to work in their busy dispatch / stores team in a great team. This is a very hands‑on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a small team in a fast‑paced environment, and you need to be physically fit as some heavy lifting may be required and certain roles require a number of steps a day. Previous work with forklifts would be advantageous in this role or training will be given.
The role
- To receive and inspect goods against delivery notes for accuracy and damages
- Notify relevant staff of any shortages and any damaged goods received and await further instruction
- Put received stock away in relevant locations or assign overflow locations
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
- Unload vehicles for goods being received
- Issue and kit materials to production in line with production schedules
- Kit to sub‑assembly and deal with queries at the hatch from other business units
- Continuously audit all stock by periodic cycle counting
- Be responsible for the security, control and movement of raw material stock
- Load/unload trucks and move stock using a forklift in dispatch when needed
Qualifications and Experience
- Computer literate and able to communicate at all levels within the organisation
- SAP knowledge is desirable
- Experience of stockroom and dispatch procedures, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Monday to Friday, 7:00‑3:30 pm or 8:00‑4:30 pm, 40 hours per week, £27,000 + healthcare & pension. Due to the rural location you need to have your own transport.
