About the role
National Grid keeps people connected and society moving. We are hiring a Project Controls Data and Information Manager within the Project Controls team in the Construction Directorate.
The role leads on the implementation, governance and delivery of a Common Data Environment (CDE) to support lifecycle information across the Interconnectors Construction portfolio, including our Offshore Hybrid Asset (OHA) and Capex Delivery projects. You will ensure that the CDE drives efficiency, supports digital transformation, meets governance and information standards, and enables successful delivery of major projects.
What you’ll do
- Lead the implementation and roll‑out of a CDE across the NGV Construction portfolio, aligning with NGV’s digital strategy.
- Develop and maintain information‑management strategies, procedures and governance frameworks to support consistent CDE usage across complex projects.
- Engage with NGV Information Technology teams to ensure successful system implementation, integration and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across NGV to capture and embed information requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO19650 and other relevant data and security standards.
- Manage and lead a team of Document Controllers so that project documentation is maintained and compliant with NGV’s data security and Document Control procedures.
- Ensure the relevant training, guidance and support are provided across the Construction Directorate to enable consistent and effective use of the CDE and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on CDE performance, risks, issues and opportunities for optimisation.
- Oversee continuous development of the information‑management framework and ensure compliance with information deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
What you’ll need
- Ability to articulate the vital role of asset data throughout a capital delivery project life cycle.
- Previous managerial experience.
- Well‑developed customer focus and stakeholder‑management ability.
- Strong communicator who can build relationships quickly.
- Influencing skills with strong internal and external stakeholder management.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of information, governance, data standards and digital workflows.
- Knowledge of security, GDPR and data compliance principles.
- Experience and knowledge of Information Management, BIM/Digital Engineering within an engineering organisation or multi‑disciplinary project.
- Experience of managing technical information in a complex environment.
- Experience of systems assurance and CDEs.
- Experience in an information‑management, digital delivery, document control or data‑governance role within construction, engineering, utilities, infrastructure or similar project environments.
- Proven stakeholder‑engagement experience, ideally across multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Experience supporting or implementing CDE systems and document‑management tools.
What you’ll get
A competitive salary between £70,000 – £80,000 per annum, dependent on capability, plus a bonus of up to 30% based on personal and company performance. You will also receive a competitive contributory pension scheme with a double match of your contribution up to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
