Teams specialise in areas such as Field testing, Lab-based testing (including Product Certification, Product Evaluation & Forensic studies of materials and constituents), Consultancy (design, procurement, tendering and project management of new or refurbished sports facilities), and Innovation & Development.
In this exciting and varied position, you will work as part of the Innovation & Development team, primarily working in the Equipment Sales sister company, Sports Test Equip Ltd. This team specialises in equipment design, procurement, manufacture and sale of specialist sports surface testing apparatus to clients around the world. There is a great opportunity to work with current equipment offering ( with significant opportunities to improve efficiencies in manufacture, product design and inventory management. Manage inventory for both make-to-stock and bespoke make-to-order items, including replenishment and forward planning.– Take ownership of newly developed wireless equipment and companion mobile application, overseeing procurement, assembly, testing, and ongoing product development to ensure reliable performance and continuous improvement.– Handle international shipping requirements, including customs and export documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.– Support the Innovation and Development team on an ad-hoc basis, contributing to various research projects as required.– Participate in occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other business sites when necessary.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and able to prioritise effectively to ensure deadlines are consistently met. The successful candidate should have reasonable experience in CAD design and be confident using Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Word and Excel. This role would be particularly well-suited to a graduate design engineer looking to gain broad experience across operations, design, and product development within an innovative and dynamic team. Some experience with basic electronic components and processes (i.e. soldering) would be beneficial. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Livingston, Scotland. Core working hours are 39 hours per week, typically 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Fridays, with some flexibility where required.
