Job Description:

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant with 7‑8 years of experience in sustainability within the built environment. The role involves managing LEED/Estidama/WELL documentation, leading technical discussions, and mentoring junior team members. Candidates should have a relevant degree and LEED AP credential. Key Duties

  • Manage the LEED/Estidama/WELL documentation process as well as project specifications, calculations, plans and submittals for LEED/Estidama/WELL compliance.
  • Lead technical discussions about various sustainability topics with clients and provide advice to secure compliance with applicable sustainability certification and rating systems such as LEED, Estidama, WELL, SITES, etc.
  • Job leader and client‑facing role.
  • Conduct sustainability certification assessments and support implementation of required strategies in design.
  • Lead and mentor more junior team members.
  • Produce technical guidance and analysis to influence and align project sustainability strategies.
  • Prepare written comments, reports and presentations with excellent visual and grammatical quality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attending meetings with architects, planners, government agencies and clients.
  • Operate across numerous software platforms, including Microsoft Office, InDesign; knowledge of OneClick LCA is beneficial.
  • Apply project management principles.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 7‑8 years of experience in Architecture or MEP with a focus on sustainability within the built environment.
  • LEED AP credential required; other certification accreditations are beneficial.
  • Proven experience delivering certified projects.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Science); further postgraduate education desirable (e.g., Master’s degree).
  • Strong experience in Sustainability Certification and Rating Systems.
  • Effective communication skills with experience producing high‑quality graphical and written outputs.
  • Working knowledge of sustainable design techniques, analysis or modelling relevant to the construction industry or corporate strategies.
  • Experience undertaking technical analysis and developing suitable responsive strategies.
  • Strong facilitation and drive to deliver outstanding results.
