Lead Hardware Engineer – Oxford
A Lead Hardware Engineer is required to join a growing technology company developing advanced sensor systems. The Lead Hardware Engineer will take ownership of electronic system architecture and delivery across complex hardware platforms. This Lead Hardware Engineer role offers hands‑on technical leadership with responsibility from concept through to validated product.
Responsibilities
• Own hardware architecture, schematic design and PCB development for vision and sensing systems
• Lead electronics development across prototypes, verification and production readiness
• Work closely with software, firmware and mechanical teams on full system integration
• Support high‑speed digital interfaces, power systems and sensor integration
• Drive design reviews, technical decisions and hardware roadmap planning
• Mentor engineers while remaining hands‑on with design and validation
Requirements
• Strong background in electronic hardware design for complex embedded or vision systems
• Proven experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and board‑level bring‑up
• Understanding of high‑speed digital, mixed‑signal or power electronics
• Excellent academic background, typically a strong degree from a leading university in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
• Ability to operate as a technical authority within a small, fast‑moving team
