Overview

A pivotal leadership opportunity within a rapidly growing, well-backed manufacturer at the forefront of low carbon heating.

This role offers full ownership of the end-to-end service function, combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery to build and scale a high-performing national operation.

You will shape customer experience across the full lifecycle — from installation through to aftersales — driving service revenue, retention, and long-term competitive advantage.

With strong backing and market momentum, this is a chance to create a best-in-class service function that directly impacts brand, growth, and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the service strategy aligned to business growth

• Build and scale a national service infrastructure, including field engineers and partner networks

• Lead installation support, commissioning, maintenance and aftersales delivery

• Drive service revenue through contracts, upgrades and lifecycle support

• Improve customer experience, response times, and first-time fix rates

• Develop systems, processes, and reporting to support a scalable operation

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing service team

• Work closely with sales, product, and operations to ensure aligned delivery

• Manage budgets, margins, and overall commercial performance

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Requirements

• Proven senior leadership experience within service or aftersales, ideally in heating, HVAC, renewables, or a related engineering sector

• Strong understanding of heat pump technology or transferable experience from adjacent markets

• Track record of building and scaling field service operations

• Experience of driving service as a profit centre, not just a cost base

• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and growth

• Experience managing engineers, partners, and third-party networks

• Excellent leadership presence with the ability to influence at board level

• A blend of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery

Personal Attributes

• Strong emotional intelligence and leadership judgement

• Clear communicator, able to simplify complexity

• Decisive, with the ability to act in fast-paced environments

• Commercially astute with strong ownership mindset

• Ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders

• High energy, resilience, and drive

Package

• Competitive base salary (£120k+ DOE)

• Performance-related bonus

• Car allowance or company vehicle

• Pension and executive benefits package

• Long-term incentive potential
