Machinist

PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Machinist (Operator/Setter) to join our manufacturing client based in Barrow. This role is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension based on performance. The rate for this position is £20 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in pre-job and Toolbox meetings with crew members.
• Plan and execute maintenance activities for a designated location, outside of Technology Lifecycle Management activities.
• Maintain equipment in accordance with established procedures, reporting any problems or deviations.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently in line with procedures, competency levels, and job requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery processes and operational efficiency.
• Participate in equipment failure investigations where relevant.
• Apply the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Machinist, Operator, Setter, or in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating and maintaining manufacturing or machining equipment.
• Understanding of production workflows and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to follow operational procedures and maintenance requirements.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities.
