Car Park and Security Officer

We are looking for hard‑working, empathetic guards to join our friendly security services team here at Broomfield Hospital and help us continue providing staff, visitors and patients a safe and welcoming environment.
This position is suitable for individuals keen to work on the frontline, passionate about security, and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
The appointed candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all patients, visitors, and staff.

Main duties of the job
The Security / Parking Team provides a comprehensive car park and security service to the Hospital and satellite sites in all weather and conditions.
In this frontline service you will need to be polite, helpful, tactful but firm and remain calm under pressure.
You will have frequent contact with staff, visitors and members of the public, directing drivers to car parking spaces, clearing entrances for fire calls, responding to all security issues and answering general enquiries – a multi‑task approach is essential.
Person Specification
Education
- GCSE or Equivalent
- A level
Security and Car Parking Systems
- Working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems
- Working knowledge of car parking systems including ANPR
- Experience with other systems, such as parking enforcement
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Dealing with members of the public
- Experience with physical restraint
- PMVA level 2 training
- Knowledge of DoLS and MCA framework
- Working for the NHS
