Senior System Engineer

Senior Systems Engineer working in the oil and gas sector with Baker Hughes, a leading global energy‑technology company. The role focuses on system engineering across the entire value chain to support energy production, transformation, and decarbonization.

Responsibilities

• Support the System Engineering Manager on allocated projects.
• Develop system deliverables, including BoD, PFD, P&ID, philosophies, etc.
• Prepare material for system design review processes.
• Manage activities that span multiple components and products, ensuring integration for maximum performance and operability.
• Handle system requirements, specifications, and flow‑downs to sub‑systems, products, and components.
• Support validation and verification activities, including system‑level testing.
• Manage technical interface coordination.
• Identify opportunities for variation orders from technical aspects and drive approval with PEM.
• Participate in CTQ and risk trades across teams designing products.
• Communicate across the organization, presenting to senior leaders about technology interconnections and solutions.
• Travel as required to supervise testing activities.
• Manage specific scopes, including issue resolution, as allocated by the System Engineering Manager.
• Deputize for the System Engineering Manager as needed.
• Lead technical aspects of commercial pursuits when assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with experience in Engineering/Technology).
• Strong experience in Customer Project Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results.

• Customer‑focused in defining quality and establishing priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Executive‑level presentation skills.

• Previous experience in project/product on‑site fabrication/testing is advantageous.
• Proven track record of achievement in previous roles.
• Knowledge of relevant industry specifications, standards, and regulations.
• Industry‑related experience in relevant products.
• Functional and operational knowledge of internal processes, procedures, and tools.
