Waste Champion – Food Manufacturing (FTC)

Temp Role to cover MAT Leave

6-month contract

Site based at our client site – 54 Church St, Caldewgate, Carlisle, CA2 5TG

Job Overview

  • Site Waste Champion is responsible for the communication and execution of the Imperfect Product sales agenda and associated site waste streams, reporting to the central functional lead.

  • The candidate will typically be responsible for the organisation and maximum collection opportunities in each product category of imperfect product.

  • They will collaborate effectively and escalate potential risks to key stakeholders.

  • Deliver documented reports on waste stream progress on a weekly basis to key stakeholders.

  • The role will cover multiple waste streams across the site including card, plastic, animal feed, R1 Reduce, R2 Reuse, R3 Recycle. This list is not exhaustive.

Main Duties

  • Building strong relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Ensure maximum return is achieved where possible on the sale of waste

  • Deliver the weekly and monthly Imperfect Product sales numbers vs forecast

  • Supporting the UK Waste Specialist and Site Management Teams through reports and analysis that aid decision making where required

  • Provide details of any scope data relevant to the role i.e., weekly net sales

  • Maintenance of Imperfect Product Dashboard through tracking volume

  • Logical mind and eye for detail

  • Proficient Excel and PowerPoint skills – including data analysis, advanced formula creation, pivot tables, and generating weekly and monthly reports

  • Ideally educated to degree level

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels

  • Organised & detailed individual

  • Good communicator

  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
