Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned site branch Installation project, report progress to Installation Supervisor/Project Manager with the objective to provide safe, quality and efficient service, maximize profit and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skill.
- Communicate with customers and their representatives—including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
- Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes regarding customer‑specific documentation and closeout processes.
- Maintain the accuracy of forecasted cost at completion by reviewing hours worked and material cost; meet with contractors and owners to discuss scope, budgets, performance, and close‑out.
- Coordinate Installation or remodel job on‑site, supervising Installers and Helpers; may also include coordinating material and estimating labor. Requisition materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
- Read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to the installation of cabling, communication loops, and components associated with energy management and refrigerant leak systems.
- Perform all job duties of an Installation Technician and delegate tasks and motivate individuals.
- Read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and manage the team in a professional manner. Manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance and direction.
Qualifications
Formal Education Requirement: High School OR ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Level: Technical Degree
Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years with HS/GED
- EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.
- HVAC/R with minimum 10‑year commercial experience.
- Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift objects up to fifty pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and out of town as required.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Strong organizational, time management skills.
- High level of professionalism and diplomacy.
- Strong customer‑focus skills.
- Strong project‑management skills and high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, learn quickly, think rationally and exercise good judgment. Work effectively in a diverse team environment.

The salary range of $37.02 – $55.54 per hour is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range or the minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
