We are partnering with a globally recognised, advisory-led investment banking platform to appoint a Director within Transaction Advisory (Accounting & Financial Reporting), supporting continued expansion across the UK and Europe.
This is a senior, market-facing role combining origination, client ownership, and delivery across complex transaction and capital markets activity.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in a growing, integrated advisory platform, working across:
- ⚡ Capital markets transactions, including IPOs and complex financing events
- ⚡ Divestments, carve-outs & reorganisations
- ⚡ Financial restructurings and special situations
The role offers direct exposure to C-suite stakeholders, private equity sponsors, and deal teams, with increasing responsibility for revenue generation and client leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to the growth of a UK & European Transaction Advisory Accounting capability
- Originate and support new business opportunities with corporates and financial sponsors
- Lead transaction-related accounting engagements across M&A and capital markets activity
- Oversee delivery across complex accounting scenarios including carve-outs and restructurings
- Review technical accounting analysis, financial reporting and deal‑related outputs
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Work closely with broader deal teams to support integrated client delivery
Technical Expertise Required
Strong, hands‑on experience across:
- IFRS 2 – Equity Compensation
- IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments / Debt Accounting
- IAS 28 – Equity Method
Both technical advisory and practical implementation experience are essential.
What We’re Looking For
- ✔️ Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
- ✔️ ~12–18 years’ experience, ideally within Big 4 or a leading advisory platform
- ✔️ Strong track record in transaction accounting / deals advisory
- ✔️ Exposure to capital markets, IPO readiness, carve‑outs, and complex transactions
- ✔️ Demonstrated ability to build relationships and contribute to revenue growth
- ✔️ Comfortable operating with senior stakeholders, including sponsors and deal teams
