Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Ayr, require a number of Exam Invigilators, Readers and Scribes to cover the current exam diet on Tuesday 28th April.  Shift is  9.15am and 1.15pm. The rate of pay will be £13.53 or £13.84 per hour dependant on the role.Main Purpose of the Role:Under the guidance of the Registry Academic Administrator and the Senior Invigilator assigned to the exam hall, you will be responsible for the supervision of the students undertaking examinations.Accountabilities/Responsibilities:InvigilatorsProvide assistance to the Senior Invigilator in the organisation and supervision of examinationsHelp with the distribution of examination papers and the appropriate examination ancillary materialEnsure student’s personal belongs are placed at the appropriate designated areaFollow instructions regarding the running of the examination including the setting out of desks before the commencement of the examination and the supervision of the studentsObserve students during the examination ensuring that the examinations are conducted in accordance with the appropriate procedures and examination regulationsEscort candidates who require to be absent temporarily from the examination venueCheck the identification of studentsCollect in the attendance slips from the desks of each candidateEnsure candidates remain seated until all answer scripts/folders have been collected inReport any relevant matters regarding the operation of the exam to the Senior InvigilatorEnsure the confidentiality of examination mattersReaders/ScribesAs a scribe/reader you have the important task of supporting a student and enabling him/her to demonstrate their abilityAlthough your role is to read and/or write as directed by the student, a quiet, friendly, confident manner will calm and encourage studentsYou should be prepared to fit in with the student’s preferences regarding seating, reading speed, dictation style and so on.Ensure with the student that all details (name, banner identification number etc. are correct) if you are completing these for the studentKey Skills and Requirements:A good general educationA professional manner with a positive and enthusiastic approach to workGood observational skillsGood communication skills, both verbally and in writing and the ability to deal with staff and students in a polite and courteous mannerCalm and efficient manner in dealing with people especially in stressful situationsAbility to follow instructionsGood interpersonal and organisational skillsPrevious experience of examination invigilation advantageousAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work using own initiativeAbility to work accurately and with attention to detailFor Readers/Scribes fluent written and spoken English is essential…
