Responsibilities

  • Deliver Fire Engineering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving.
  • Ensure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including Heads of Engineering Delivery and Operating colleagues.
  • Define scope, control business risk and ensure compliance with associated standards throughout the TfL estate.
  • Work through a project’s life cycle, including feasibility, delivery and acceptance assurance.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in report writing.
  • Lead a team of talented Engineers, including their development and objectives, while fostering passion for the TfL Vision and strategy.
  • Work independently at any TfL location and during non‑normal office hours as required.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers or another relevant internationally recognised institution.
  • Knowledge of relevant TfL, National and International standards for Fire Engineering, such as Building Regulations Part B, BS9992, BS9999 and BS7974.
  • Experience preparing or approving Fire Strategies for consultation and agreement with stakeholders and authorities.
  • Ability to lead a team of Engineers and support their development.
