Location: The National Gallery – Trafalgar Square

As Events Manager at Ochre, a fantastic British Bistro inside the National Gallery, you will be responsible for delivering and organising a first-rate events, varying from a 10-person 3-course lunch/dinner to 200-person full-venue hires.
You’ll be responsible for booking, planning and coordinating a range of events, ensuring the events team is trained and organised. You’ll also work closely with our Executive Chef, Operations Manager, Head Events Chef and managing and recruiting FOH team when needed for different events.
Events Manager responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end event planning for full venue hires and private dining bookings from initial enquiry and site visits through to post-event follow-up.
- Drive event sales and revenue growth by responding to enquiries promptly, preparing bespoke proposals, negotiating contracts, and upselling food, beverage, and add-on packages.
- Coordinate cross-functional operations by liaising with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless execution of all events and an exceptional guest experience.
- Build and maintain client relationships, managing corporate accounts, special occasions, and repeat bookings while collecting feedback to continuously improve service and retention.
Events Manager requirements:
- Proven experience in event management or hospitality sales, preferably within a restaurant, hotel, or venue environment.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings and maximise revenue through upselling.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, confident liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver seamless events.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
