About the Role
We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering high quality, sustainable electrical engineering solutions across multiple projects.
As the Electrical Engineer you will own project deliverables, manage parts of the internal delivery team, and liaise with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure holistic, compliant, and commercially aware solutions. As a Senior Engineer you will take full lead responsibility for larger schemes, manage junior staff, and foster client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Take briefs and deliver electrical design work from inception through to completion.
- Produce electrical calculations, drawings and technical documentation that comply with regulations and client standards.
- Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy across deliverables.
- Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines and third‑party consultants.
- Review contractor submissions and check site installations against design intent.
- Attend and report at design, client, and project meetings.
- Witness testing and commissioning and support handover documentation.
- Manage own workload to meet programme deliverables.
- Contribute to the professional development of junior colleagues.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Engineer
- Develop briefs and deliver a small project or electrical discipline on a complex scheme.
- Exercise autonomy and take ownership of technical decisions and delivery within cost constraints.
- Delegate, manage, and check work undertaken by others; mentor colleagues.
- Manage commercial aspects (scope, risk, cost) ensuring outputs meet project and budgetary requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Building Services Engineering; industry membership preferred.
- Working towards or holding IEng/CEng.
- Strong technical competence in LV distribution, lighting, earthing/protection and emergency/standby systems.
- Proficient with industry software (Revit, AutoCAD, Dialux, OM Electrical) and MS Office.
- Able to work independently: deliver an element of a project or lead discipline/small projects and larger schemes.
- Effective communicator coordinating multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients/contractors.
- Experience of site checking, witnessing testing/commissioning, and reviewing contractor submissions.
- Demonstrable commitment to meeting programmes, quality standards, and commercial awareness.
- Supportive team player who mentors junior staff; Senior expected to supervise.
