We are looking for a motivated and proactive Indirect / MRO Buyer to manage and optimize purchasing activities across our plants in Derbyshire. If you have a strong background in procurement within a manufacturing environment and enjoy negotiating, building supplier relationships, and driving savings — this role is for you!

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the supply strategy for indirect purchases (MRO, services, consumables) in line with business group objectives
• Lead RFQs, contract negotiations, and supplier selections
• Achieve savings targets and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Benchmark purchasing conditions and identify opportunities for optimization
• Monitor supplier performance, manage non-conformities, and ensure process adherence
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across sites and functions

Qualifications

• Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent professional experience
• Several years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment (automotive a plus but not essential)
• CPIS qualification advantageous but not essential if supported by experience
• Strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and contract handling
• Proactive, results-driven, and process-oriented
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and prioritisation skills
• Able to work independently while knowing when to elevate concerns
