Purpose of this role
Assist in leading the facilities team responsible for the maintenance of BUUK’s buildings and associated equipment and services on a day-to-day basis. This role will be a key liaison for site services and manage external contractors and sub‑contractors, applying health, safety, environmental and quality standards as required by the company’s policies and procedures.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Cover main Head Office reception and reception duties when required.
- Oversee and mentor the facilities team responsible for the maintenance of BUUK’s buildings and associated equipment and services.
- Respond to, record, and complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks where required and within individual competence, ensuring prompt follow‑up with stakeholders.
- Be a key liaison for site services and manage external contractors and sub‑contractors, applying health, safety, environment and quality standards.
- Complete and stay current with all required SHEQ training and risk reporting.
- Be proactive in highlighting and driving preventive measures and controls.
- Assist the Group Facilities Manager to plan and coordinate all premises‑based works activities, identify process improvements, review environmental targets and recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
- Arrange for regular maintenance of equipment and internal systems (e.g. heating system, fire & intruder alarms).
- Maintain an updated record of equipment maintenance and internal systems, documenting processes.
- Assist the Group Facilities Manager with longer‑term/larger‑scale projects such as office moves, relocations and or significant refurbishment works.
- Visit other BUUK Group premises as and when required to monitor/review ongoing facilities activities.
- Any other duties as required by the business.
Qualifications
- Management professional qualification or currently working towards a qualification.
Experience / Knowledge
- Previous facilities maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Previous soft/hard FM proven experience.
- Experience completing site inductions, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and all site‑relevant permits.
- Experience of leading a team and projects.
Abilities / Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, engage with and inspire colleagues.
- Be adaptable to any situation in a calm and collected manner.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office & Excel.
Desirable
- Basic health and safety knowledge (IOSH or NEBOSH).
- PowerPoint, MS Project and CAD.
