Job Overview

Join us to keep streets safe and clear for pedestrians and drivers travelling in the city. You will patrol streets, issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles which are not complying with parking regulations, ensure pay and display machines are functioning correctly and maintain signs and lines. During match day parking you will patrol and check temporary restrictions are in place.

Responsibilities

Patrol streets, issue Penalty Charge Notices, ensure pay and display machines function, maintain signs and lines, patrol and check temporary restrictions during match day, drive a van or ride a scooter, assist with towing, record events and observations using a 24‑hour clock, work across the city in all weathers, potentially walking up to 7 hours per day, wear a uniform, and use hand‑held devices and a radio to carry out roles effectively.

Qualifications & Requirements

Resilient, customer‑focused, and experienced working with the public in challenging situations; good literacy and numeracy skills; basic IT skills; able to work across the city in all weathers, up to 7 hours per day; hold a full driving licence; subject to standard DBS check; able to keep a 24‑hour clock record; willing to wear a uniform.

Benefits

Salary: £25,583 – £28,142 per year.Contractual hours: 37 per week, full‑time, permanent.Hours of work: 6am – 1.45am on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.Total benefit value (includes pension contribution and full holiday entitlement): £38,374.This is a career graded post and appointment level will be based on experience and holding a full driving licence.
