Supply Chain Manager – Ilfracombe
Up to £75,000 + Bonus and class‑leading pension.
Melbreck Technical is working with a leading designer and manufacturer who are aiming to build a world‑class Sourcing, Materials Management & logistics team to deliver market‑leading service levels and lead times at the best cost.
Role Overview
- Manage the materials function whilst considering manufacturing capacity, schedules workloads, making recommendations on in‑house manufacturing vs. outsourcing, quality control and workforce balance.
- Leads all Supply Chain Management activities, including establishing preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery and certifications.
- Take responsibility for continuous improvement programmes with suppliers.
- Be responsible for managing operational inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels for immediate production items and forecasting for future requirements.
- Take accountability for managing overall strategic production planning practices taking into consideration short‑term/long‑term production requirements and integrating materials availability.
- Provide leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counselling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management and individual development.
What we are looking for
- Degree or equivalent in business related subject.
- Demonstrable performance in managing teams to deliver results and related Supply Chain related KPI’s.
- Proven capability at building strong networks.
- Capability of influencing at senior levels with organisations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong Material Management experience.
