We’re supporting on a major energy infrastructure project and are looking for a QA/QC Engineer with strong mechanical erection experience. This role focuses on ensuring quality compliance across boiler pressure parts installation and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and lead QC inspections on mechanical erection activities (boilers, pressure parts, water wall panels, piping)
- Ensure compliance with drawings, method statements, and ITPs
- Witness inspections including:
- Fit-up, alignment, and dimensional checks
- Bolting/torqueing
- Welding and heat treatment (PWHT)
- Oversee and verify NDT activities (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT)
- Ensure adherence to WPS / PQR and welder qualifications
- Manage QA/QC documentation:
- Inspection reports, material certs (EN 10204)
- Welding logs, NDT reports
- Raise and manage NCRs, RFIs, and corrective actions
- Support testing & commissioning (hydrotests, leak tests, flushing)
- Coordinate subcontractors and support audits/inspections
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5–8+ years’ experience in QA/QC for mechanical erection
- Strong background in:
- Boilers / HRSG / power generation / industrial plants
- Welding and NDT processes
- Familiar with standards such as:
- EN 12952, EN 13445, ISO 9001, ISO 3834
- Certifications like CSWIP / BGAS / ISO 9712 (advantageous)
- Strong documentation, communication, and site-based experience
