General Operative – Cambridge
The Role and About the Person you are looking for:
- We are seeking a reliable individual to carry out street cleaning duties, including sweeping, litter collection, and operating cleaning machinery to maintain clean public areas.
- The role involves grounds maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, and emptying bins, including handling hazardous waste like faeces, needles, and deceased animals.
- Additional duties include graffiti and vandalism removal, seasonal work like gritting, and reporting public space defects using mobile devices.
- You must interact politely with the public, offering help and information as needed while delivering a courteous and professional service.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday 06.00 – 14.30 & Friday 06.00 – 12.15
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £29,540 – £32,061 per annum (City Pay Band 3)
Location: Cowley Road Depot
