Senior Compliance Manager
Responsible for supporting the Head of Compliance in leading the organisation’s compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. Provides strategic guidance, oversees compliance frameworks, and works with senior leadership to embed a strong compliance culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and guidance affecting the organisation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory changes, risks, and operational impacts.
- Ensure the organisation meets regulatory reporting and filing obligations.
Risk Management
- Lead compliance risk assessments and maintain the compliance risk register.
- Design and oversee risk mitigation strategies and internal controls.
- Conduct compliance reviews and thematic audits as required.
Compliance Monitoring & Assurance
- Establish and manage an annual compliance monitoring programme.
- Track and report compliance breaches, incidents, and remediation actions.
- Produce clear, high-quality reports for executive committees and boards.
Training & Culture
- Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation.
- Foster a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability.
- Serve as a trusted adviser to business units and senior stakeholders.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Mentor compliance team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Risk, HR, Audit, Operations).
- Act as point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external partners, as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in compliance, regulatory, or risk roles.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks with particular focus on Anti Money Laundering regulations and compliance.
- Proven ability to manage complex compliance programmes and deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Experience leading teams or managing cross‑functional initiatives.
Desirable
- Professional compliance qualifications (e.g., ICA).
- Industry‑specific experience.
- Project management or change management experience.
- Ability to influence at all levels.
