Our client is supporting a major UK & Ireland infrastructure and energy organisation responsible for a large, diverse property portfolio including offices, depots, training facilities, data centres, and live operational sites.
We are seeking an experienced Buildings Project Manager (SQEP) to deliver technical and project leadership across a high-volume Minor Works Framework, managing multiple fast-paced projects while ensuring full compliance with safety, technical, and regulatory standards.
Role Overview
This role focuses on the delivery of minor works projects across an operational estate, typically covering:
- Refurbishments and fit-outs
- Building upgrades and statutory compliance works
- Space reconfiguration and asset improvement projects
Projects are delivered within live operational environments, requiring a practical, adaptable approach and strong coordination with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. The scope primarily spans early project stages (RIBA 0–4), including feasibility, surveys, design coordination, and pre-construction activity, with responsibility through to delivery and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle from award to completion across multiple concurrent projects
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ, statutory, and technical standards at all stages
- Oversee budgets, cost control, and contract administration, including NEC4 contracts
- Monitor programme, manage risks, and drive timely, compliant delivery
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and handover information
- Provide leadership and support to site teams to maintain performance, quality, and safety
Requirements
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience delivering building or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience in minor works, refurbishments, or working within existing buildings
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in fast-paced environments
- Solid understanding of regulations, planning, and construction methodologies
- Demonstrated experience managing contracts and budgets
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Chartered status (CIOB, RIBA, or equivalent)
- Experience working under NEC4 or similar contract forms
