Overview

Role: Cloud & Infrastructure Manager

Employment: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Pity Me, Durham / Homeworking

Salary: Up to £74,412 depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cloud & Infrastructure Team, ensuring the live system infrastructure is maintained to agreed levels of service and availability, with the team kept motivated.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions and meet agreed performance, capacity and availability metrics to support NWL strategic objectives; minimise downtime due to data centre or cloud infrastructure failures within service levels.
  • embeds strong operational processes and continuous improvement; ensure the estate is secure and audit-ready through effective patch management, security incident handling, and controlled documentation and evidence.
  • Lead build and migration cloud projects; provide accurate estimations of effort and elapsed time for delivery tasks.
  • Own the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE), driving enterprise adoption, governance, development and training, and overall return on investment.
  • Strategically pursue automation of provisioning, maintenance and upgrades of core services.

About You / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an IT infrastructure & cloud leadership role; track record of managing teams to develop and improve automation processes to speed up deployment and reduce human error.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills; able to make technical decisions to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • Experience with Cloud Management and Monitoring platforms/toolsets; understanding of Microsoft Azure, Oracle and Amazon Cloud Services.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft MCSE or MCSA: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, MCSA: Azure or AWS Certified are highly desirable.
