We are looking for an experienced IT Security & Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of our organisation’s cybersecurity posture and core infrastructure environment.
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for securing systems and data, maintaining high‑performing infrastructure, and delivering key technical initiatives. You will work closely with senior IT leadership and external partners to drive security maturity and ensure operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Security & Risk Management
- Lead the design and implementation of cybersecurity strategy, controls, and best practices
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats
- Oversee security tooling and platforms (e.g. SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, network security)
- Manage third‑party security providers and ensure effective service delivery
- Conduct regular risk assessments, penetration testing, and audits
- Ensure compliance with frameworks such as GDPR, Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls
- Own the performance, availability, and security of on‑premise and cloud infrastructure
- Manage environments across Azure, virtualisation platforms, and enterprise networks
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
- Ensure effective patching, system hardening, and endpoint security
- Support infrastructure modernisation and cloud adoption initiatives
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Act as an escalation point for 3rd/4th line infrastructure and security issues
- Lead and deliver technical projects (e.g. migrations, upgrades, security enhancements)
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Drive best practice in documentation, standards, and processes
- Support planning and prioritisation of team workloads alongside IT leadership
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in senior infrastructure and/or security roles
- Strong background in enterprise IT infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Experience operating at 3rd/4th line level with complex environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience delivering technical projects and meeting deadlines
Technical Expertise
- Microsoft Windows Server (2016+)
- Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies
- Active Directory / Entra ID, identity & access management (MFA, SSO)
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching)
- Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions (e.g. EDR/XDR)
- Backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
- General systems architecture and design
