My client, a well-established commercial vehicle maintainer is actively seeking to add a fully skilled, experienced and qualified Chassis Engineer to their team.
Chassis Engineer Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working as a vehicle mechanic or chassis engineer, ideally with commercial vehicles
- Strong understanding of light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
- Familiarity working with manufacturers such as Iveco, Mercedes, Renault, Ford, and Nissan
- Capable of completing MOT preparation work to a high standard
- Solid diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), are advantageous
Chassis Engineer General Duties
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on 3.5‑tonne commercial vehicles
- Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical and chassis‑related issues
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
- Carry out repairs on braking, suspension, steering, and underbody systems
- Use diagnostic equipment to support fault‑finding when necessary
- Deliver all work to a high standard within agreed deadlines
- Keep accurate and up-to-date service and repair documentation
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and maintain workshop standards
