Overview

Reporting to the Corporate Project Manager, the Project Engineer will play a key role in the development, delivery, and governance of capital (CAPEX) projects across UK manufacturing sites. This role is suited to an engineer with strong operational experience in process and/or packaging environments who is motivated to develop formal project management skills and progress toward a Project Manager role. The position acts as a bridge between site operations and the CAPEX project team, supporting safe, compliant and cost-effective project execution across the full project lifecycle.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles and capture lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
  • Promote a strong culture of Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Environment and Sustainability.
  • Support compliance with UK CDM Regulations, food safety standards and ASR Group engineering and safety requirements.
  • Support FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Prepare and review AutoCAD drawings (2D and 3D) and technical documentation.
  • Provide engineering input during feasibility, design, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Act as a key interface between the project team and site operations, ensuring operational requirements are embedded in project solutions.
  • Monitor project progress against scope, cost, schedule and quality targets, escalating risks and issues where required.
  • Assist in the development of Charter, Basis of Design, Scopes of Work, cost estimates, schedules, risk registers and change control documentation, as per CAPEX workflow.
  • Coordinate project activities across engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE, quality and external contractors.
  • Support the planning, execution and close‑out of CAPEX projects and provide proper handover documentation.

Work Experiences

Experience on Project management preferably in a Food Industry or equivalent.

Education Requirements

  • Graduated or qualified with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
  • Understanding of Project Engineering, like Visio.
