As Economic Development Officer, you’ll join a forward thinking, collaborative team that values fresh ideas and innovation, working together to deliver projects that make a real difference across Wyre.

In this exciting role, you will help deliver initiatives that improve the economic prosperity of Wyre – particularly across its town centres, and play a key part in developing the Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Zone (EZ).

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the EZ’s owners, commission studies, develop investment opportunities, and lead promotional work to attract new businesses.
  • Deliver economic development projects that support the long-term sustainability of Wyre’s economy, with a strong focus on the Town Centre Improvement Programme.
  • Engage with consultants, stakeholders, and partner organisations to procure, manage and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of economic development and external funding opportunities
  • Experience working with partners, consultants or investors in a development, regeneration, or economic context
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects at different stages.
