Equans is looking for a Project Manager to join our team on our contract with Bristol and Oxford LIFT on a permanent basis. You will be based predominantly in Bristol and Oxford, with occasional travel to Dudley.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary, company vehicle, bonus and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • The Project Manager is a regional role covering Bristol, Oxford & Dudley LIFT contracts, providing both a technical lead around asset management and project delivery of each lifecycle plan and variations.
  • Being responsible for leading on any key technical disciplines that relate to building infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems associated with a healthcare premises.
  • Proactively engaging with internal teams and FM suppliers to identify assets that fall short of contractual maintenance requirements or need replacement within the five-year lifecycle plan.
  • Providing technical support on any lifecycle works & variations, highlighting to local teams relevant requirements to comply with best industry practice including BS standards, SFG20 and HBNs guidance, illustrated within the scope of works created by the Project Manager.
  • Supporting a culture of responsive monitoring by working closely with the third‑party FM supplier, managing notifications and day‑to‑day step‑ins, and engaging constructively with internal departments such as Commercial or Central Lifecycle Teams.
  • Being responsive to notifications or step‑ins highlighted by the FM supplier while maintaining a transparent process and central document system to oversee and control delivery.
  • Acting as a technical lead on any projects.
  • Supporting projects by providing input into scope of works documents.
  • Controlling obsolescence through supplier feedback, reviewing plant and obtaining FM supplier feedback with equipment or contacting manufacturers directly.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships associated with PFI/LIFT contracts, variations & lifecycle replacement works from a technical perspective.

Who are you?

  • In‑depth knowledge and experience of relevant processes and procedures for the role, including quality assurance requirements, techniques and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of building fabric and M&E disciplines across the healthcare, local government and education sectors.
  • Substantial understanding of relevant Department of Health, regulatory and legislative issues.
  • A technical background in electrical, mechanical or a building discipline.
  • Commercial and financial awareness with proven knowledge of budgetary control.
  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Accredited to either NEBOSH or IOSH and holding SMSTS.
  • Understanding of ISO 15001.
  • Broad understanding of construction health and safety law and legislation.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology.
  • Able to travel as required by the role.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Educated to degree level (desirable).
  • Asset management diploma (desirable).
  • Demonstrable technical experience in complex operational PPP/PFI contracts (desirable).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the structure of PFI contracts with relevance to understanding lifecycle requirements (desirable).
  • Incorporated Engineer level of registration with a relevant institution (desirable).

This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check; therefore the ability to pass is essential.
