Overview
Applications are for the Data Manager Role within the Cardiothoracic Directorate, based at the University Hospital of Wales.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a highly specialised directorate and would be particularly suited to individuals with strong analytical skills and an interest in data reporting. The post provides a platform for professional development, including the enhancement of management and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct line management of staff, contributing to both service delivery and team development within the Directorate. They will oversee the creation, maintenance, and validation of data held within the Directorate, ensuring that all information is presented in high‑quality, professional formats for internal stakeholders and external governing bodies. As the senior lead within the Data Team, the post‑holder will manage other Data Officers, providing direct line management, leadership, and support. They will act as the primary point of contact for this team.
The post‑holder will also be responsible for ensuring that all data governance requirements are fully adhered to, and that data collection processes remain secure, compliant, and robust. They will ensure that all reporting deadlines are met and that all data submissions are accurate and completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Requirements
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
