Apex Fintech Solutions is a leading innovator in the fintech sector, leveraging advanced technology to transform financial services. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role on our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. The Investigations team handles customer identity verification, watchlist screening, customer due diligence checks, and various onboarding flows that are part of account opening and monitoring. You will also work with Client Configurator, which manages client‑specific configuration across the Ascend ecosystem, providing a streamlined, user‑friendly workflow with entitlement handling. You will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis through implementation, testing, and deployment—while collaborating with team members and cross‑functional partners to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient products that meet our users’ needs and business objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Contribute to the development, support, and quality assurance of our technology products, utilizing automated testing extensively to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain clear, accurate, and up‑to‑date documentation and guides for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Product Releases and Deployments: Support product releases and deployments, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth and successful production releases.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse datasets for accuracy and logical values, leveraging analytical skills to ensure data integrity and contribute actionable insights.
  • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality metrics.
  • AI Tools and Practices: Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and innovation, staying informed about AI advancements.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, implement technical solutions, and deliver high‑quality software on schedule.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues, troubleshoot production incidents, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and ensure service reliability.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve processes and methodologies.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in at least one programming language, including Java.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and backend service testing methodologies.
  • Experience contributing to epics, participating in technical direction, and strategy for projects.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools—automating build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Experience in financial services a plus.
  • Hybrid work environment: office presence 2 days per week.

  • Ability to troubleshoot production systems, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to technical discussions.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira).
