Job Title: Java/Kotlin Developer

Location: Sheffield

Salary/Rate: £407 PD

Job Type: Contract

Company Introduction: A Global banking and financial services organisation focused on investment banking

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and wider stakeholders to build and operate scalable products
• Design, develop, and implement backend and light frontend features aligned to product backlog priorities
• Work closely with engineering teams to design and deliver new features
• Engage directly with users to troubleshoot issues and respond to feature requests

Required Skills/Experience

• Strong experience in Kotlin, or Java with a willingness to transition to Kotlin
• Proven experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins
• Background in Systems Administration (Linux, AIX, WAS)
• Exposure to test automation practices
