As a Procurement Specialist you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods, apply sourcing policy, and interface between suppliers and the entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing incoming demand: identify order exceptions, misalignment with product rationalization strategy, and opportunities to utilize existing inventory.
- Meeting cost out deflation targets via supplier negotiations, alternate supplier development, and/or shifting to Best Cost Region suppliers; develop strategic relationships with global suppliers.
- Place and follow up on purchase orders, manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, resolve problems and schedule changes, and update ERP.
- Ensure supplier performance stability to meet delivery, quality, and inventory expectations via lead‑time reductions and capacity improvements.
- Drive supplier compliance to standard payment terms and reduce days to pay to meet cash goals.
- Plan and schedule order timelines to align with customer requirements while minimizing inventory and shipping costs.
- Work with Product Line, Sales, and Service Delivery to prioritize delivery dates as needed.
- Assist in executing continuous improvement projects to maximize value.
- Keep internal teams and management updated on production status, delays, or issues.
- Provide regular reports on supplier production schedules and costs.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with experience in sourcing, materials, or supply chain).
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work independently, and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with excellent facilitation skills.
- Member or working toward membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or APICS.
- Strong process mindset.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Experience using Oracle, SAP, or a similar ERP system.
