About The Role
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to become a vital part of our Engineering Team at Kober! The role is located in Kober, Cleckheaton at our bacon slicing and packing facility.
Schedule: 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights), 6am – 6pm & 6pm – 6am.
Location: Kober, Cleckheaton – Site Based Role.
Contract Type: Permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete reactive maintenance work when machinery breaks down to minimize impact on line efficiencies.
- Carry out preventative maintenance according to schedule.
- Ensure high standards of engineering workmanship across the site.
- Work collaboratively on site development projects.
- Contribute to the development of existing and new standards for key equipment and facilities.
- Lead high standards of safety practices across the business.
- Complete routine tasks without being prompted, including any other duties related to the role.
- Participate in engineering-focused activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Support site technical issue resolution and completion of improvement actions through good engineering practices and guidance.
- Identify and share best practice and contribute toward raising awareness, improving performance, and transitioning to a pro‑active engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Level 4 HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical engineering qualification is an added advantage.
- Experience in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction.
- Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner.
- Understanding of environmental requirements and responsibilities.
