Junior Project Manager – Field Based
Location: Field based in the Colchester area
Salary: Competitive with company car
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
What You’ll Do
You will take responsibility for driving the programme delivery for both self and contract KPI targets, and our tree cutting teams.
This is a field-based role with approximately 3‑4 days in the field and 1‑2 days based at home. A driving licence is required for regular travel to rural locations.
You will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability. Drive consistency and innovation through everything you do to ensure Ground Control are the best at what we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
- Ensure efficient communication with your assigned office‑based Project Coordinator and relevant action taken to keep projects processed smoothly and efficiently.
- Timely and effective reporting and communication to your Contract Delivery Manager.
- Ensure your assigned tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are fully utilised across the wider contract.
- Update and manage the relevant programmes of work as well as planning checklists and all similar programmes for your project and assigned teams.
- Swiftly resolve any delayed spans that need client involvement to gain consent.
What You’re Looking For
We will consider candidates who are currently working in the arboreal industry, field‑based surveyors, installation engineers or ex‑armed forces personnel who are looking for a change of industry.
Any tree or horticulture‑related experience from a practical or project‑management perspective would be a benefit but is not essential.

- Ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from numerous sources to ensure all stakeholder needs are met.
