Our Northwest Trunk Road Unit spans over 1,422km of roadways, stretching from the rugged beauty of Thurso and Wick in the far north, down to the coastal charm of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute. It connects communities from Uig on the Isle of Skye to the historic cities of Perth and Stirling, offering a unique opportunity to work across a landscape that’s as diverse as it is inspiring.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pavement Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Pavement Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality pavement design and analysis across our network. This includes coordinating investigations and producing technical reports for submission to Transport Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual pavement inspections across the network
  • Undertake pavement design work to support maintenance and improvement schemes
  • Coordinate pavement investigations, including rotary coring, FWD, and GPR surveys
  • Analyse data and compile detailed technical reports for Transport Scotland

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering
  • Experience within a highway maintenance or similar environment is desirable
  • Holds, or is actively working towards, a relevant professional qualification
