Role: HR / Office Administrator & HSE Officer
Location: Twyford, Reading, you must be Ideally within 15-mile radius of Reading.
Onsite: 5 days per week
Salary: £25,000 -£30,000 approx. depending on experience

Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive HR / Office Administrator & HSE Officer to support our day‑to‑day business operations.
This role combines HR administration, office coordination, and hands‑on Health & Safety responsibilities and we will consider applications at all levels because the right person is the most important.
You will be the central point of contact for employee administration, compliance documentation, HSE processes, and general office support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and ensuring the business runs smoothly and safely.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in HR administration, office administration, or a combined operational role.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety processes (HSE qualification desirable but not essential).
- Training can be provided on gaps such as H&S processes or Employment law. Perhaps ‘blank slate’ was too extreme- mostly suitable experience as above with gaps in experience that are trainable (E.g. an element of the role such as H&S).
- People management experience with strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity, and professionalism.
- Experience supporting ISO audits or compliance frameworks is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of HR principles and employment law
- Strong organisational and written skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using digital systems, trackers, and MS Office.
- Able to work onsite full‑time and manage competing priorities.
- Holding previous positions long term is desirable.
- Skills gained need to be transferrable to this role in any case as they will need to able to step straight in to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
– Maintain employee records, contracts, and onboarding documentation.
– Support recruitment administration including scheduling interviews and preparing offer packs.
– Onboarding and offboarding administration.
– Legal compliance.
– Skills competency monitoring, training & development and record keeping.
– Track holidays, sickness, and absence records.
– Assist with HR queries and escalate where necessary.
Office Administration
– Supplier management, including supplier engagement, contracts, information security assurance.
– Manage office supplies, order logs, and supplier coordination.
– Conformance with budget and cashflow.
– Maintain physical and digital filing systems.
– Support general office operations to ensure a smooth working environment.
– Logistics including personal travel, ticketing and accommodation, import/export administration, shipping and distribution management.
– Handle incoming calls, emails, and visitor management.
Health & Safety (HSE)
– Spend 2 days per week dedicated to Health & Safety duties.
– Conduct routine HSE checks across the site.
– Ensure and promote compliance with company Health & Safety policies and legal requirements.
– Maintain and update log books, safety documentation, and risk assessments.
– Manage both physical and digital HSE trackers.
– Accident prevention and health and safety measures.
– Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
– Facilities management, including property, cleaners, utilities, alarm, fire, first aid.
– Coordinate staff training records and HSE inductions.
ISO & Compliance
– Assist with ISO audits and ongoing compliance activities.
– Ensure documentation is up to date and audit‑ready.
– Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and safety systems.
