Systems Engineer ( Electronics )

YT Tech is partnering with defence organisation looking for a system engineer on a permanent basis. On behalf of this company, we are seeking a flexible, enthusiastic, and highly experienced Systems Engineer to join their dynamic R&D team. This is a hands-on design and technical leadership role where you will take complete ownership of system designs, guiding products from initial concept through to manufacture and through-life support. As a Systems Engineer, your blend of hands-on technical skill and engineering management will see you: * System Design & Integration: Participate in the full development, integration, verification, and validation of advanced engineering projects. * Testing & Diagnostics: Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide technical oversight and collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary internal team (Software, RF, PCB Layout, Mechanical) and external partners. * Coordinate with suppliers, manage in-house/external production, and engage with clients to elicit requirements and provide technical support. Strong experience across the full engineering lifecycle, utilizing formal frameworks such as the V-model and Agile development. * Proven ability to test and debug complex systems across hardware, software, and FPGA firmware domains. * Engineering Tools: Experience managing Configuration Items and BoMs using Aras Innovator (or equivalent PLM) , alongside tools like IBM DOORS, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. A background in electronics or RF design, radio systems, and the use of RF test equipment. * Automated Test Equipment (ATE) software development experience (e.g., Python) and working knowledge of Linux. * Experience defining and executing formal qualification testing (EMC, environmental, safety) in line with standards like Def Stan, MIL-STD, or ISO…
