New Product Development (NPD) Engineer

We are seeking a talented and driven New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of product design, manufacturing, quality, and operations, ensuring the successful transition of innovative products from concept through to full-scale production.
About the Role
As an NPD Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering new products into manufacturing while driving operational excellence, quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and quality teams to ensure products are launched successfully and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through production.
- Manage the seamless transition of new products into manufacturing environments.
- Work cross-functionally with design, operations, procurement, quality, and supplier teams.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and testing procedures.
- Support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing supplier performance management.
- Prepare and manage PPAP, APQP, and product validation documentation.
- Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Monitor project timelines, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful product launches.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Production, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier quality activities.
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, DFM, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Six Sigma certification or experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, electronics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or consumer product environments.
- Exposure to product testing, validation, and regulatory compliance processes.
