HR Manager

Flexible/Hybrid (UK-based remote working considered. Monthly travel to the Manchester office required)

At Applica, we’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team as we continue expanding across the UK, North America, and Scandinavia.

The Role

This is a broad and influential role responsible for leading the people agenda across the business.

Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll help drive employee engagement, talent development, succession planning, organisational effectiveness, and HR compliance across both permanent employees and PAYE workers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and managing the full employee lifecycle

• Supporting managers with employee relations, performance management, and people development

• Driving employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational effectiveness initiatives

• Developing succession planning, learning and development, and career progression frameworks

• Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, contractor engagement processes, PAYE worker compliance, and governance requirements

• Supporting recruitment and workforce planning activities

• Driving continuous improvement across HR systems, reporting, and people processes

What We’re Looking For

• CIPD qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a broad HR Generalist or HR Management role

• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, employee relations, and HR best practice

• Experience within a growing SME, recruitment, staffing, workforce solutions, professional services, or similarly fast-paced environment

• Experience supporting compliance requirements relating to employees, contractors, contingent workers, or PAYE workforces would be highly advantageous

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

• Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously

• Exposure to international HR environments or multi-country operations would be highly desirable
