Are you a creative and technically skilled Mid weight Interior Designer looking to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion?

We’re working with a leading workplace design and build business that delivers innovative, people-focused environments for a diverse range of clients. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a talented Mid Weight Designer to join their collaborative and ambitious team.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to manage the entire design journey, from initial concept development through to technical detailing and project delivery. You’ll work on a varied portfolio of workplace projects, creating inspiring and functional spaces that align with client objectives while delivering exceptional design quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process from concept creation through to technical documentation and project delivery.
  • Develop innovative workplace design solutions for a variety of commercial fit-out projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce accurate base-build drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain design risk registers and support building control applications.
  • Create mood boards, presentations, visual concepts, and design proposals.
  • Present design solutions confidently to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with pre-construction, commercial, and project delivery teams to ensure designs align with budgets and project requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding product specifications, availability, and costs.
  • Produce comprehensive technical drawing packages, finishes schedules, as-built drawings, and O&M documentation.
  • Research emerging workplace trends, products, materials, and furniture solutions.
  • On selected projects, take ownership of client relationships and manage projects through the full lifecycle, from brief to completion.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Interior Designer, or Workplace Designer.
  • Experience within commercial interiors, workplace design, or office fit-out projects.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign. Revit a bonus.
  • Ability to communicate design ideas through sketches, 3D modelling, and visual presentations.
  • Strong understanding of how design concepts translate into technical construction packages.
  • Experience working within project and furniture budget constraints.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and building standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and positive approach.
