About the role

About the Learning & Development Team

This role is part of the Council’s Learning and Development Service and you’ll be joining a friendly and welcoming team of 5 who work with a wider group of around 50 colleagues, who are all passionate and driven to support colleagues to professionally develop, grow and to reach their full potential. We’re very proud that our commitment to supporting colleagues development, has been recognised with Cambridgeshire County Council awardedGold Membership of the 5% Club.

We are looking for a full time Business Support Assistant to provide excellent customer service and efficient administrative support to our learning offer. We support the learning and development of thousands of Council colleagues; we manage this through our Learning Management System (LMS) which hosts e-Learning modules and a booking system for in person and virtual training. Alongside this, we support colleagues to complete Apprenticeships and work-based qualifications.

We are passionate about delivering excellence and strive to ensure every interaction colleagues have with us is supportive, welcoming, and empowering, and you will have a key role in supporting us with this. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly from both home and our main office in Huntingdon or other council locations across the county.

About you

You should have good administration skills, the ability to prioritise your workload, show attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills will also be required as you will be liaising with a variety of people across the organisation as well as colleagues from the private, voluntary and independent sector.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to deadlines. You should have a methodical, concise and flexible approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Teams, SharePoint, Word and Excel) and be able to use databases where full training will be given.

Dont worry if you cant yet fully demonstrate the essential criteria – a willingness to learn and develop is just as important and full training and support will be given.
