Job Description:

Expleo is currently recruiting a Procurement Buyer to support a key customer based in Coventry. This is a maternity cover position running until the end of February 2027, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Procurement Buyer, you will be accountable for obtaining goods and services required by the organisation, covering both indirect and direct operations. You will play a key role in sourcing, supplier engagement, and driving value across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement of goods and services across:

o Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)

o Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including:

o Product/Service Sourcing

o Supplier Selection

o Pricing/Terms Negotiation

o Order Processing

o Contract Administration

o Supplier Performance Management

• Contribute to and support strategic sourcing initiatives

• Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision

• Coach and support junior team members where required

• Solve complex procurement challenges within a demanding environment

Required Skills:

Essential:

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience

• Delivering complex supply chain solutions in a fast paced, high pressured manufacturing environment

• Ability to work independently, results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.

• Implementing and delivering procurement strategies with the focus on total value chain delivery

• Identify opportunities for creating value in a commodity or commodities

• Resilient and enthusiastic individual who responds constructively to new ideas and inputs

• Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional engagement

• An effective team player, actively develops and supports team members

• Maintaining compliance with standard policies and procedures

Desirable:

• An individual with a proven track record in delivering results in both favourable and unfavourable conditions

• The ability to challenge in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
