We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major oil and gas operation at Grangemouth on an urgent 4-month contract basis. The successful candidate will provide competent health, safety and environmental support to site operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and site standards throughout the contract duration.
This is an active, site-based role requiring a confident, hands-on professional capable of engaging with both operational and management teams from day one.
Pay Rate
£46 per hour Umbrella
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE advisory support to site operations and project activities
- Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) and safe systems of work
- Monitor site compliance with HSE legislation, site rules, and permit-to-work systems
- Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and close-out of corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions to site personnel and contractors
- Carry out routine site safety inspections and audits, reporting findings to site management
- Maintain accurate HSE records, KPIs, and management reports
- Support emergency response planning and procedures
- Interface with the client HSE team and regulatory bodies as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the site safety culture
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
Experience
- Demonstrable HSE advisory experience within oil and gas or petrochemical operations
- Strong working knowledge of COMAH regulations and major hazard site requirements
- Experience with permit-to-work systems in a process/production environment
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
- Proven ability to engage and influence at all levels, from operatives to senior management
