The Opportunity

An established civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join its commercial team.

Working on major projects across renewables, heavy civils, utilities, transport and infrastructure, you’ll lead the preparation of competitive tenders from enquiry through to submission while working closely with the Commercial and Delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate tender submissions and cost estimates.
• Price civil engineering works from first principles.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Support tender adjudications and post-tender negotiations.

About You:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying within civil engineering.
• Strong first-principles estimating experience.
• Experience with estimating software (ConQuest desirable).
• Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
