St Ambrose Barlow RC High School is seeking an Assistant Director of People and Culture to lead its people function and provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing leaders and driving continuous improvement while delivering an exceptional people service.
You will:
• Lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle
• Act as the school’s HR lead, providing expert advice and coaching to senior leaders
• Lead employee relations matters
• Develop people initiatives that strengthen engagement, wellbeing and organisational culture
• Lead recruitment processes, ensuring compliance and an outstanding candidate experience
• Use HR metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making and support school improvement
• Oversee HR systems, the Single Central Record (SCR) and employment compliance
• Lead on HR projects
• Champion a positive and inclusive culture where staff feel valued and supported
You may currently be:
• An HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner within education
• A People and Culture Manager or HR Manager within the public or not-for-profit sector
• An experienced HR professional looking to step into a broader strategic leadership role
• CIPD Level 5 qualified (Level 7 desirable)
• Significant experience across operational and strategic HR
• Strong employee relations experience with the confidence to advise and influence senior leaders
• A genuine passion for creating positive workplace cultures where people can flourish
