Enjoy working outdoors rather than being stuck inside all day?
Confident working at height and getting hands‑on with real infrastructure?
Looking for a role where you’re trusted to get on with the job without constant oversight?
This is a full‑time, permanent Telecoms Engineer role, focused on the build, installation, and maintenance of telecoms infrastructure across London and surrounding areas.
Working pattern & location
- Field‑based role
- London‑based with regular travel to client sites across London and surrounding areas
- Spending most of your time outdoors at multiple sites
What you can expect (earnings & package)
- Salary up to £40,000
- Company vehicle and fuel card
- Overtime and call‑out opportunities
- Tools, PPE and ongoing training provided
Clear setup from day one – you’ll know what’s expected, with no hidden surprises or shifting goalposts.
What you’ll actually be doing
This is a hands‑on infrastructure role where you’ll be out in the field building and maintaining telecoms networks.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing telecoms infrastructure, including overhead and underground cabling
- Carrying out pole climbing and working at height to install fibre and copper‑based networks
- Supporting fibre rollout projects including FTTP installations and network builds
- Performing fault finding and diagnostics across telecoms networks
- Completing cabling, jointing and termination work to a high standard
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations, particularly when working at height
- Using handheld devices to update job status and complete documentation
- Liaising with clients, site contacts and internal teams where required
- Managing your own workload across multiple sites
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who’s comfortable working physically, enjoys being out in the field, and can manage your own day without supervision.
Ideally, you:
- Have experience as a Telecoms Engineer, Fibre Engineer or Field Engineer
- Have worked on external telecoms infrastructure (ideally overhead / pole work)
- Are comfortable working at height and outdoors year‑round
- Have knowledge of fibre networks, FTTP installations or broadband infrastructure
- Have strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Can work independently and manage your time effectively
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Nice to have (not essential):
- Accreditations such as SA001, SA002 or similar
- Experience working with Openreach or similar networks
- Skills in splicing, jointing or network testing
- Exposure to both build and maintenance environments
A bit about the environment
This is a role for someone who prefers getting on with the job rather than being managed constantly.
- You’ll be trusted to work independently in the field
- Support is there when you need it, without micromanagement
- A practical, hands‑on team environment focused on doing things properly
- Ongoing training to help you build your skills over time
If you’re someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors, and seeing the results of what you build, this will suit you well.
