Swift Shift Recruitment is working exclusively with a growing manufacturing business to appoint a Production & Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations across production, planning, people management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a key leadership position within a well-established business experiencing continued growth, offering genuine long-term progression opportunities for the right individual.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will take ownership of production operations, ensuring output, quality, efficiency, and delivery targets are consistently achieved while driving operational improvements across the facility.

This role would suit an experienced production, operations, or manufacturing leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing teams, production schedules, and operational performance.

Due to ongoing production requirements, the role will require flexibility to support Saturday operations as part of the wider production schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production and operational activities across the manufacturing site
  • Manage production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and productivity initiatives
  • Ensure production targets, KPIs, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are achieved
  • Support and develop production teams, supervisors, and operational staff
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, procurement, and senior leadership teams
  • Monitor health & safety compliance and promote a strong safety-first culture
  • Identify process improvements to support scalability and future growth
  • Manage operational issues quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
  • Support long-term operational strategy and capacity planning

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience within a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Strong background within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial production environments
  • Experience managing production teams within a fast-moving operational setting
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving ability
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of production efficiency and operational cost control
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to drive accountability, structure, and continuous improvement across operations
  • Comfortable working within a hands-on leadership environment
